Couples & Marital Therapy
Is love bigger than pain? Initiating couples therapy usually means that something has gone wrong and we are hurt, scared, and insecure about the relationship with the person with whom we have promised to love forever. Clients are frequently surprised and encouraged to learn that there is ample research available on what makes for a stable and happy life partnership. I draw heavily from this research and avoid gimmicky popular psychology approaches to couples therapy. My training as a family therapist has laid a firm foundation in working with couples, as well, my training in behavior therapy has informed my work with scientific data that offers couples clear, accessible information. Both approaches help clients reflect on their relationships with compassion, understanding, empathy, and willingness to heal and forgive.
